Popup Camper Information

A New Popup Camper May Not Answer Everything

Just because you own a nice new popup camper it may not entirely eliminate all of the possibilities to your outdoor camping experiences. With your new popup camper there are many things you really need to experience to become familiar with them. You might have all the facilities you ever wanted right inside that popup camper but still there are those that will cause a retake or two the first time they crop up. These will usually be the things that have not been written in the manual or things you overlooked. Or you may not have even taken time to read the manual. But what difference does it make, experience is always the best teacher and discovering for yourself will be fun and educational.

Let us help you ascend to that next level with your popup camper living experiences and try to help you avoid a few mistakes. We believe here are some clever ideas to help you get through those first time popup camper experiences.

Helpful Popup Camper Ideas

  • 1. Watch out for the tenting on the glide out dinette or if the beds do not slide easily, there has to be a good reason. Be careful to not destroy the clear vinyl windows on the popup camper glide out especially when attempting to fold the trailer for the first or second time. If the bed does not want to go in easily, stop and check for the reason or obstruction. There may be grease on the slide out track so it is a good idea to pull the tenting canvas well away before sliding in or out. Everything on your popup camper is designed to fold and slide easily so if you hit a snag, remember it is always best to stop and take a look.
  • 2. The Popup Camper water connector where the outside shower hose connects to the faucet may not be strong enough to withstand much brute force. If your hose happens to develop a king you should straighten it gently instead of with a jerk or snap. On a new popup camper things like a broken faucet might be covered under warranty but why take a chance on the inconvenience.
  • 3. Popup Camper wheels should have a chock in front and back of each wheel before unhooking from the towing vehicle even if parked on an incline. Wheel chocks are readily available for purchase at any camper supplies store and are well worth the price in convenience and safety. Make this one of your first popup camper accessories and be safer.
  • 4. Your popup camper tongue jack should not be relied on for total leveling stability for your camper. If your popup camper does not come with a leveling jack permanently attached to all four corners you should purchase a set of these as soon as possible.

Remember these simple ideas when you take the new popup camper out for that first shakedown camping trip and we believe your camping experience will be more rewarding.
